As an introductory offer, the company is offering free home delivery without any minimum purchase for a limited period of time and Cash on Delivery option. Once the offer expires, Amazon will charge a small fee for home delivery on orders that cost less than Rs. 500. At present, the company does not deliver products internationally. Damaged or defective products can be returned within 30 days of receipt of package.
Items that are no longer needed can be also returned in new condition within 7 days of receipt of package. The company stocks and sells only third-party products because of FDI regulations of the country. All Indian retailers, who wish to sell their products on the site, can sign up with Amazon. There are two new programs named “Selling on Amazon” and “Fulfillment by Amazon” (FBA) operated by Amazon Seller Services Private Ltd.
The selling on Amazon program lets the Indian retailers to sell unlimited number of products online on the site without any listing fees. While the fulfillment by Amazon program lets the vendors across the country to send their products to Amazon’s 1.5 lakh sq ft fulfillment centre in Mumbai. The company will pack and ship order to the customer.
